Potrait Series

Tiyank Sahai                                            2013

This is a portrait series of myself. It says a lot about my life and the person I am. The protein shows my dedication for the gym. The car keys shows my love for cars. The rest of the pictures show a little bit of my serious side. I changed the colors in order for the portrait to catch the viewers attention. The colors make the art stand out a bit more.

Photography composition

Leading line

Leading Line: A line that leads to something or some where.

This picture works because it is showing how a line is leading to the mouse. It is a leading line. It shows where it is taking you.

Rhythm

Rhythm: A rhythm is like a pattern it continues one after another.

This picture works because all of the lockers are lined up together. They are lined up in a pattern. It is going in a rhythm.

Framing

Framing: Like a border around a picture.

This picture works great because the hands are representing a frame. This a how the picture would look with a frame around it.

Horizontal

Horizontal: Left to right

This picture works good because the all the objects in the picture are going left to right. From the desks to the computers to the outlet everything is going left to right.

Vertical

Vertical: Up and down

This picture works good because it is going top to bottom. It is a rectangular object coming off the ceiling.

Informal Balance

Informal Balance: Different shapes and sizes.

This picture works good because it shows a good example of informal balance. They are both phones yet one is bigger than the other. They are different shape and size.

Formal Balance

Formal Balance: Two things exactly the same.

In this picture both the outlets are the same. They are identical. They are both formally balanced.

High Key

High Key: When the brightness is very high

In this picture everything is very bright. This picture lacks contrast. It also has a lack of shadows.

Low key

Low Key: When the brightness is very low

This picture the contrast is very high. The tone is darker. It is a little bit hard to see.

Silhouette

Silhouette: The light is coming from behind the object

The background is white. All the light is coming from the back.

Angle
Angle: Different position if the view

These three pictures are positioned differently. All three have different angles. There are three different ways of viewing them.

Distance

Distance: How close or far the picture is taken from

The same lockers picture has been taken from more of a distance every time. The closer you get the more detailed it will get. The farther it gets the more you get to see in the image. The closer you are the better details you will get.

Focus

Focus: How clear or unclear the picture is

In the first picture is very sharp. The second picture is very blurry. The first picture is very sharp and detailed. The second picture if very focused on one thing.
